Welcome back neighbors ......................................spring
is in the air and folks are returning to their Skookum homes
in time to see the trees bud, grass showing hints of green,
and the new shoots rising in the flower beds.
The saga of the Canadian Geese and resident Osprey pair
continues. The pair of geese are once again sitting eggs
in the Ospreys nest on the river. The Osprey are begrudgedly
watching their nest from the replacement platform
PUD put up last year outside the Lodge kitchen door.
The herd of elk have returned as well and at latest count
the herd is up to seventeen. They look like they have had
a good winter. As always the deer are abundant so we will
soon see lots of fawns in the fields and woods. No moose
sighting as of yet but we are all looking.
We are excited to be back this year and look forward to
everyone's return. One of our goals this year will be to
encourage and support communication towards the resorts
common goals.

Open Letter
from Board Director, Gus Gustafson
Dear Skookum Friends,
I am sorry to report to you that for health
reasons, my doctor will not allow me to go north this year.
I have been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and
am undergoing chemotherapy at this time. I therefore feel
I must resign my position as your representative on the
Skookum Rendezvous Board of Directors. I feel you need a
representative that you can talk to in person as things
come up that need to be resolved.
Thank you very much for you support and the
confidence you had in me this past year. I was proud to
serve as your representative on the Board.
As you prepare to choose a replacement, please
consider that you need someone who will both listen to the
members and work with Swank & McPoland towards the successful
completion of our beautiful resort.
You all need to be aware of the excellent
job Chuck Anderson has been doing for us as Lenora Water
& Sewer Board member. Please lend him all of your support.
Thanks once again, and Brenda and I hope to
see you all in 2009.
Gus Gustafson

Activities Committee |

|
The volunteer committee members ended last
season with lots of great ideas, events and support for
this coming season. We will be adding more events and offering
a helping hand to anyone wanting to have or hold an activity.
The contact information below will enable you to contact
your neighbor committee member. They will share the responsibilities
of assisting homeowners in putting on events, calendar scheduling,
making flyers, sign-up lists, organizing the bulletin board,
printing tickets, and managing the activity funds. So if
you are interested in joining the committee, volunteering,
putting on an event, or simply sharing an idea, let your
committee know.

| Kudos
Korner |
|
|
|
Our very first Kudos for the season have
to go to Carol & Terry Enzor, our winter management
team. This was a record snow fall year for much of the northwest
and Skookum got its fair share. Keeping the roads cleared
all the way out to LeClerc was only one of Terrys
jobs. Carol could be counted on to have the Lodge open and
a warm fire going. The friendly voice when you called the
Lodge was Carol. If you havent had the pleasure of
meeting Carol & Terry in person you can find them relaxing
on Lot #32.
|
Your Vote Counts
Skookum would like to congratulate
Charles Chuck Anderson, Lot # 92 for a successful
election to the Lenora Water & Sewer District Board.
Thank you Chuck for stepping forward and showing your commitment
and support.
Your service is appreciated.
Thanks to all who voted !
Chuck can be reached at

Dan Welch Lot # 23 was spotted this afternoon
in the park with rake in hand going from lot to lot raking
and cleaning up the pine cones and pine needles on his neighbors
lots. We spotted about 12 piles of debris and he was still
going strong.
What a nice thing to do Dan!
Gus & Brenda we will all miss you. Thank you for serving
your neighbors.
